Questionaire.

To find out more about what an audience looks for in a thriller opening sequence, we drew up this and passed it around 10 people and collected back the results.

A. of those who answered this question, the responses usually alluded to the build-up of atmosphere and suspense. Three people said they were interesting. One person said because they are full of action.

A. Of those who answered, two people said it added to the drama; two said that it helped to set the scene; one said it was important that the music fitted in with the film; and four said to build up suspense.

A. The responses generally mentioned the build-up of suspense, the first impression given of the film (attracts attention), and they are interesting. One person said that it ‘tells you how creepy it is’.

As you can see from the results, many people like Action and Suspense in the title sequences, Large and Bold lettering and red black and white colours or an overall monochromatic colour scheme, we will keep these results in mind when we are filiming our sequence.
