Images from Google.
Saul Bass (1920-1996) is an American graphic designer who specialised in opening credits for films, aswell as an Academy-Award winning filmmaker. During his career, he worked along side big names such as Alfred Hitchcock, Martin Scorsese and Stanley Kubrick.

He produced effective and memorable titile sequences, "employing kinetic typography for Vertigo and Psycho." He was a very influencial and memorable graphic/title sequence designer and you still see his work influence title sequences in film openings these days.
